Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke has called for synergy between home and government to curb insecurity.

9Janewshub.com.ng reports that an Ibadan born Professor of Engineering, who also doubles as the Founder and Spiritual leader of Shafaudeen-In-Islam, Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke has called for synergy between government and home to curb insecurity challenge in the country.

Prof. Sabit stressed that to permanently arrest all forms of insecurities, there must be a synergy between the home and the government to be able to have a stronghold on other agents of socialization.

The Islamic scholar made the called on Tuesday in his t keynote address tagged; “Challenges of Insecurity and Terrorism In Nigeria, The Way Out”, during the Annual Shafaudeen In Islam Sustainable Development Conference, a program that was organized by Shafaudeen In Islam in collaboration with Center for Religious Cooperation and Tolerance (CRCT) to commemorate the Shafaudeen In Islam annual Convention ‘Ishrat 2022’.

Prof. Olagoke however maintained that at the home front there must be a return of restoration of good parenting with role-modelling examples in the child rearing processes.

He said, there must be compliance with ante natal care, safe and secured child custody, appropriate intervention in the right management of the delicate adolescence stage through nature nurturing process with attendant parental monitoring.

“Sponsorship of functional education with appropriate guiding interventions leading to career assurance, professional expertise and the ultimate home formation through the dye process of marriage sacredness for the youth that must be led into maturity stage of new generation parenthood, this shall not only be a benefit to society but also guarantees bequethable legacy of peace and sustainable development for the future. Olagoke said

Speaking on the roles of government, Prof. Olagoke stressed that government must revive the functional objective of the culture for people to be integrity prone. He maintained that government need to promote functional education to the conscious realization of the affective, cognitive and psychomotor domains for education to be a solution in realizing civility, scriptural content internalization for ease of application to suit real life situation to be justice and equity concept laden, this is fundamental to achieving security in place of insecurity.

Also in her contributions, the state Commissioner of Police, CP. Ngozi Onadeko who was ably represented at the convention by CSP. Usman Sharafadeen called for synergy between the security agencies and members of the public to achieve crime free society.

Sharafadeen in his remarks made on behalf of CP. Onadeko said,  “there is need for all and sundry to support the security personnel in  the country to curb the menace of insecurity battling with the country.

“We need to be conscious of our immediate environment, security is a collective responsibilities of all of us, we should all have a positive focus. We must fear God in whatever we are doing, anyone who fear God will not do harmful thing to his fellow men, or his immediate environment and the society at large.We must be very positive in all our endeavours.

“We must let our foundation base on fear of God, having laid our foundation we will not do anything harmful to our society, you will wonder that I’m talking about God, as I’m preaching, yes we must mediate, we must preach, we must consult, we must do all the needful to ensure we have maximum security in our country.

“We must be patriotic and straight forward in all our dealings, parents should be conscious of where their children go and the kind of friends they move with. We must teach our children on the need for them to see that they are the leader of tomorrow and they must see the reason for them to prepare themselves for the future.

“The members of the public must see the reason why they need to help the security agencies, there must be a robust synergy between the members of the public and the security agencies to have a safer society, in case of emergency here are the numbers you can call for prompt action; 08034029268; 08081768614. The event was attended by the representative of  Oyo/Osun Area Custom Command,  Owolabi Idowu Kayode, representative of Oyo State Comptroller of Immigration, Akinlabi Abdulmumin, among others.
