The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Inter Governmental Affairs and Northern States Laison Officer, Hon. Dooshima Aneh has assured non indigenes people living in the State of equal rights and opportunities under Governor Makinde’s administration.
Dooshima said, All Nigerians who seek a means of living in Oyo state, is afforded equal opportunities to fulfill their dreams.
Dooshima in her speech on Saturday in Ibadan, during a meeting with Tiv Community in Oyo State urged all the Benue and other ethnic groups in the State to be law abiding and good ambassadors of their respective states and localities.
SWIndependentnews.com.ng reports that the meeting that was held at the Benue link Motor Garage, in Ojoo Ibadan the Capital City of the State had in attendance all the representative of Tiv across the 33 local government areas of the State.
Hon. Dooshima Said, TIV people are farmers and they farm across all the Geo Political zones of this State and I have admonished them on matters concerning the herdsmen as they will pass through their farms but they should avoid any sort of trouble and if any issue arise, they should not take laws into their own hands but rather report to the right authorities.
She said further that this gathering is essentially meant to reassure our people that the present administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde is poised to jettison ethnic considerations in the affairs of the state.
This administration is ready to give every law abiding Nigerians reside in the state a sense of belonging and a platform to thrive. There is no form of discriminatory treatment of residents along ethnic or religious lines.
Avoid actions that negate the progress of the society and be rest assured of the protection of your basic rights by the present administration in Oyo state.
Let me on behalf of the good people of the Northern part of Nigeria, appreciate and congratulate the Executive Governor of Oyo state, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde for successfully piloting the affairs of the pace-setter state for two years of unprecedented people oriented achievements.
Indeed, His excellency has more than justified the confidence reposed on him by the good people of Oyo state.
The last two years has witnessed appreciable advancement on the four cardinal points of this administration, anchored on Health, Security, Education and expansion of the Economy of the state through Agricultural value chain as well as critical infrastructural projects that is fast reshaping the narratives. Hon. Dooshima added.
While speaking on the current situation of insecurity challenges facing the country, Dooshima said the country has continued to grapple with security challenges of different forms.
She however called on the Federal Government to take urgent steps to stem the ugly tide of banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and the senseless killing of innocent Nigerians in different parts of the country.
She also urged all the good citizens of the State to be vigilant and play their roles as citizens to ensure safer society.
She said, we are witnessing a disturbing scenario most part of the country is engulfed in conflicts that has seriously undermined the sanctity of human lives and the need to protect it. Coperate with state actors in the security architecture and play a part in the security of the lives and properties of residents.
Oyo state Government has opened its doors to all well meaning Nigerians and by virtue of the position I occupy, I shall intensify efforts to bridge the gap and enhance the relationship between the government and all northerners resident in the state .
We shall continue to support the administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde for being non-discriminatory and most importantly both now and come 2023.
The essence of the gathering is to appreciate God on the appointment I got and also use the opportunity to talk to my people to be law abiding and as well use the opportunity to thank the governor of Oyo state Engr Seyi Makinde for honouring me and the people of Benue state because this is the first time in history that Benue people are given appointment in this state.
“I will continue to liase with the northerners to keep peace, encourage the people to work in harmony because we have been given the opportunity to stay here and we should be law abiding citizens. Dooshima said.
In his contribution at the event, the Director General of Oyo State Liason Office, Abuja and Lagos, Hon. Busari Olayemi said Hon. Dooshima has been doing well since her assumption into office.
He said, she has been helping the State government to mediate between the Northerners, and as you know, in our cabinets we have something we can call a division of labour, she has been helpful when it comes to matters that involves the State and the Northerners and she has been very wonderful, she is playing her parts very well, I cannot speak hausa language, but she does and understand very well, so she has been very helpful, if it’s a SouthWest affairs then I will be well invove because that is my area where I can address without any doubts, we are all working as a team to ensure we deliver good governance to the people of Oyo State.
