Excitements rented air as Ibadan based Islamic Scholar  becomes Wazeer Muslimeen of Oyo State.
SWIndependentnews.com.ng reports that Ibadan metropolis  was agog on Sunday when Alhaji Taofeek Akewugbagold, was installed as Wazeer Muslimeen of Oyo State.

Alhaji Akeugbagold an Ibadan based Islamic Scholar who is the former Oyo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, was installed as Wazeer Muslimeen of Oyo State by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Ahaji Sheik Abdulkadir Abduganiy Agbotomokekere.
Wazeer Muslimeen according to the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, is the Prime Minister in Islamic ranking and one of the highest ranking title, stressing that anyone conferred with the title is to manage the affairs and see to daily activities of Muslims.
Akeugbagold conferment title was witnessed by dignitaries, among who were the Asiwaju Adinni of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiulahi Oladejo, Babasale Musulumi of Ibadanland, Alhaji Abdullateef Oyelade, Bagi of Sakiland, Chief Adegoke AbdulRasheed, Shelkh Muyideen Bello, Iya Adinni of Oyo State,  Alhaja Misturat Raji among others.
Speaking during the turbaning and presentation of the Staff of Office of the title, the chief Imam said the position was not just given to anyone but one who possessed its qualities.
“Akewugbagold possessed the qualities and characteristics of being Wazeer Muslimeen and has contributed immensely to Islam and Nigeria in general. Imam AbdulGaniy said.
In his remark, the newly installed Wazeer Muslimeen Akewugbagold, appreciated Almighty God for the title and called on God to grant him the power and knowledge in performing his new task.
Akewugbagold however called on Nigerians to maintain inter-religion tolerance and lived in harmony with one another irrespective of religion.
He said that Muslims, Christians and other religion adherents are created by God and no one should fight or maim one another because of religion.
“We should all live in peace, peaceful coexistence is very necessary, ” Akewugbagold said.
In his lecture, Dr Bari Olatunji, called on wealthy Muslims to use their wealth in impacting positively to the betterment of mankind.
Olatunji called on Nigerians to fear God,adding that the mostly important of deeds was to fear God and be generous to mankind in every position one found him or herself.
He called on the newly installed Wazeer Muslimeen of Oyo State to continue to serve humanity and Islamic propagation.
Also speaking, Alhaja Kafilat Kaola, described Akewugbagold as talented, patience and cheerful giver,urged him  to keep up his good deeds.
Kaola said that the position was a prestige from Allah and bestowed on whoever He pleases.
