SWIndependentnews.com.ng recalled that some youths were sighted in some major streets of Ibadan metropolis going about in a peaceful protest with various placards with EndSars inscriptions, while some of them carried placards with inscriptions demanding for freedom of the Yoruba Freedom fighter Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho from custody.
CP. Ngozi who went round the city with men and officers of her command purposely to monitor the situation of things as regards the protest briefed journalists at the Command Headquarters Eleyele Ibadan said that the state is so calm and peaceful.
She said, “The entire Oyo State is calm, we have made provision for that since yesterday night, we started the joint show of force yesterday evening, we have to join force with other sister agencies and this I think really saved us.
“During the monitoring patrol we conducted round the state today, there were no issues, everybody were going around with their businesses, we have been out since morning, everywhere was calm, everybody were going about peacefully, doing their lawful businesses, the policemen were visible everywhere, though they have been well briefed to be civil to members of the public.
“We have told them to be calm in dealing with the members of the public, we told them to thread it softly even when they  antagonise them, they should just leave them, it doesn’t mean we are weak, we now have inspector General of Police who have enjoyed us to police with human face.
“The parents and the guardians should tell their children and wards to shun any forms of violence, they don’t achieve anything in violence, we have been talking and proactive and that is basically what we have been doing to ensure that people shun violence and crimes in the state. Ngozi Onadeko said.
The police Boss also maintained that  people have seen that there is basically nothing to be protesting about and that is why they are going about with their lawful businesses, they have seen that creating a scene of violence doesn’t pay, so I don’t see why do we now have to destroyed the little that we have, governments at all levels have invested so much to make sure we have infrastructures that will make life more meaningful for us, so why should we now come out and destroy them, I think the people have had a rethink and we have spoken with the stakeholders and  everybody that peace is the only way out and I think that really works for us.
Talking about the protesters, CP. Ngozi said, “What we saw was not actually a protest, we saw about 20 people carrying placards and the policemen are with them, escorting them, they are going about peacefully so there is no issues at all.
