Oyo State Police Command has embarked on Show of Force Patrol.

9Janewshub.com.ng reports that as part of its efforts to ensure safety of lives and properties of both the residents and Indigenes of the state, Oyo State Police Command embarked  on a show of force patrol in Ibadan the capital city of the State as well as other parts of the state.

The Patrol which was in line with the directive of the state Commissioner of Police, CP. Ngozi Onadeko fdc started from the Command Headquarters at Eleyele Ibadan, en-route Dugbe/Alesinloye, Iyaganku, State High Courts areas of Ring Road, Oluyole, Challenge Roundabouts, New Garage, Alao Akala Road, Elebu.

The Patrol led by Commander Eagle Show of Force for the Command, a Chief Suprintendent of Police, CSP Sharafadeen Usman, also had in attendance some journalists and the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso on board visited some black spots in Ibadan such as are Molete, Bode Market, Idi-Areere, Oja’ba/Mapo, Beere, Labiran, Oja’gbo, Aremo, Ajibola, Ode Aje, Agugu, Oremeji, Oluyoro, Oke Adu, Agodi Gate, Idi-Ape, Iwo Road back to Agodi GRA, Government House, Agodi Secretariat, Agodi Garden, Dandaru, Mokola Roundabout, Sabo, Onireke Recreation area, back to the Police Command Headquarters Eleyele.

Briefing journalists on the development, at the Command Headquaters shortly after the exercise,  CP. Ngozi Onadeko enjoined all and sundry in the state to anchor around the virtues of forgiveness, tolerance,  selflessness and love in line with the ascension of Christ, she also encouraged them to be unrelenting with the provision of credible and timely information to the Police at all times.

CP. Onadeko also commended the officers of the command for their doggedness and their commitment to safety of lives and properties of all and sundry in the state.

She said, “this is a routine patrol, it is not done because of holidays festivities, it is normal routine patrol with our other sister security agencies and we’ve started doing it since on Monday and it’s simultaneously operation across the State, as its happening in Ibadan metropolis, so it’s happening in Ogbomoso, Oyo, Ibarapa and other parts of the state, so it’s a simultaneous operation.”

“We have also deployed our officers to some flash point in the State, and its a massive deployment even with other sister security agencies all collaborating with us.”

“My message to our people is that as we are celebrating the Easter which shows the restoration, more especially our Muslim brothers are fasting so let us allow peace, let’s tell our wards, our children that crime doesn’t pay, they should stay away from it, and if they see something they should say something, all our toll free lines are going for any case of emergency, even if you know any numbers of our officers you can call them they will respond to your call as a matter of urgency.” Onadeko said.

The Show of Force Patrol was carefully conducted by men of the officers as well as Armed Mobile Policemen that were selected from various division under the command as well as some members of the Western Security Network code name Amotekun Corps.

There was no negative news from all the places visited so far during the patrol, as people were going about doing their lawful businesses without any challenges or any break down of law and order.
