Peter Obi  has clinches Labour Party Presidential ticket. 

9Janewshub.com.ng gathered that the Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi has emerged the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party ( LP) for the 2023 Presidential ejections.

The election was conducted yesterday in Asaba by a 7 man committee led by Chairman Abdullahi Usman Aliyu, who disclosed that a total of 104 delegates from the 36 and FCT were accredited, while 98 votes were casted with one invalid vote as Mr Peter Obi emerged as Presidential candidate of the party with 96 votes.

Earlier, four Presidential aspirants of the Party; Prof. Pat Utomi, Olubusola Emmanuel, Oluwadare Joseph and Charles Uchenna stepped down for Mr Peter Obi.

During his reception speech, Obi said, ” The journey of building a functional country has commenced. We have to make sacrifices by going to the nooks and crannies to get the votes that are needed to rebuild this country.

Nigeria must be secured. It is time it is time for all of us to be proud to say we are Nigerian. We must ensure that we deliver this country from those who are holding it hostage.

I will work ruth you to ensure we achieve success at the end.

I have a single mission, I want to remove it from sharing to production. If you hear everybody talk about removing 100 people from poverty. The only way to solve insecurity is to out people out of poverty.

A need with vision, go and ask about what I did in Anambra and this country called Nigeria would see a sense of hope if we work hard and stop wastage. For the sake of our children let us stop this”

Earlier State Chairman of Labour Party, Mr Ezeagwu Tony said, ” We are gathered here to make history because in a few months, Labour Party would produce the President of Nigeria.

National Chairman of Labour Party, Mr Julius Aborie urged party leaders across the country to seize the opportunity to make history by producing a President that would salvage the current economic situation of Nigeria.

“To solve crisis of diversity, of hunger of insecurity. We have decided to rescue Nigeria. PDP and APC have failed Nigerians, it is time for a credible party and its aspirant to save Nigeria” he stated.
