9Janewshub.com.ng reports that contrary to report that Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi accepted defeat by Seyi Makinde, the incumbent governor of the state at the just concluded governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday, his campaign organization has debunked the claim.

***Some of the brutalized delegates…

In a press statement signed by his campaign DG, Hon. Makanjuola Aborode, the campaign organization, ‘Ade Ori Okin Team’ rejected the result.

Gbolarumi is the only aspirant challenging Makinde’s reflection in the party.

Copy of the statement made available to journalists read as thus;

This is to draw attention of the public to a news in circulation that Barr Hazeem Gbolarumi, a gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State PDP stepped down at venue of the convention for incumbent Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde.

At no time did Barr Gbolarumi made pronouncement of withdrawal from the election.

Acknowledgement of sitting Governor should not be misconstrued as adoption, this is just courtesy.

In his speech at the convection, Barr Gbolarumi rejected the composition of the delegates.

Quoting him “what delegates do you want me to address, having intimidated, brutalized and sent out authentic delegates who identified with me” Affront by NURTW members against delegates loyal to Barr Gbolarumi who had already checked in, just before commencement of the program were witnessed by all. Many of these delegates were severely injured and treated in hospitals.

Inappropriate delegates were used for the conduct of the election, thus, the process is rejected by Barr Hazeem Gbolarumi. This illegality will not be allowed to stand.

Appropriate actions will be taken to seek redress.

Thank you.
