No fewer than 80 Women have been trained and empowered in Ogun State by NDE. 

9Janewshub.com.ng reports that no fewer than 80 unemployed  women in Ogun State have been trained by the National Directorate of Employment, (NDE).

NDE through the Women Employment Branch (WEB) of Small Scale Scale Enterprise Department, has embarked on a 5-day training of eighty (80) unemployed women in Ogun State on various demand driven skills and income generating activities.

The NDE Director General, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo while flagging off the  training recently in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital said the training was packaged to improve the socio-economic life of women in various communities.

The NDE Director General who was ably represented by the NDE Ogun State Coordinator, Mr. Alao Babatunde Ismail stressed that the training is one of the several ways in which NDE empowers women to make them self-reliant in the society.

Alao said, “the Five Days training which comprises  Tie and Dye, Organic Products, Stone/ Bead Work and Perfumery was designed to reduce unemployment, make women reliant and above all fulfill the mandate of the NDE, which is to create jobs.”

“The capable resource persons (Trainers) have been recruited by the Directorate to train the participants on the various skills to be learnt.”

Also speaking, the Director, Small Scale Enterprise, Mr. Sunday. D. Apakasa, who was represented by Nnodi Queenneth, assured that NDE would continue to impact relevant skills to women across the country and urged them to make judicious use of the golden opportunity to become great Entrepreneur and employers of labour.

The Head of Department Small Scale Enterprise  Mr. Ogunsiji Gbade, urged the participants to make good use of the training to make it their  means of generating income so as to tackle the menace of unemployment and poverty which has remained a challenge in the country.
