Fagbemi who was ably represented by his media and Communication Strategic officer, Mr. Abdulfatai Olugbade urged meaningful Nigerians to emulate the kind gesture of Pastor Leye Adefioye the founder of the RestAnchor Foundation, stressing that government alone cannot cater for the needs of the citizens.

He maintained that he will always ready to help RestAnchor Foundation in ensuring wellbeing of the less privileged in the state.

He also advised students present at the program to always make good use of opportunities around them for betterment of their lives.

He said, “don’t be shy whenever you are called to say something in public, always ready to speak up your mind, opportunity comes but once in a lifetime, whenever you have such opportunity just make good use of it, always be ready to grab opportunity, you can only be ahead of your pairs by reading ahead of them, so you must be ready to study hard for you to go far in life.”

In his address, Pastor Leye Adefioye, said over one hundred and twelve people comprising of 72 children and adolescents from 4 public secondary schools and three primary schools as well as 8 private nursery primary schools and 6 private secondary schools, all from Egbeda, Lagelu, Ibadan South East, Ibadan North East and Ibarapa North LGAs of Oyo State; and Ife East of Osun State.

Also benefitted from the food items
gifts were the students of Monatan Secondary school Wofun, Monatan Junior High School, and Monatan High Senior School in Iyalode area of Ibadan, Ibadan Community High School, Ajagba, Ibadan, Community Primary School, Oki Pataki, Anglican Primary School Wakajaye Ibadan and children from other private nursery, primary and secondary schools across 5 LGAs of Oyo State.

He also noted that 3 people represented the community of People Living with Disability, while 7 people represented the Senior Citizens and 20 represented widows.

Prince Adefioye noted that all the beneficiaries were people in dire need and they represented the larger communities of vulnerable groups been cared for by RESTANCHOR Total Child Parenting Foundation.

He noted that the foundation will be sharing the rest food items to the beneficiaries after the school resumption.

He said, ” Building a child is much easier and better than mending an adult. The radicalization of productive youth age and adolescent cohorts is worrisome as it is these sets of people that are mainly employed or seen perpetrating acts of violence and aggression.”

“The best place to address this problem is to make sure that the youth and young children are shown the right path and given the tools that will enable them to make their own decisions.Tunde Onakoya, the brain behind the chess in slums initiative, has made a massive leap in the right direction with what he has embarked on. Educating the unseemly part of our populace is critical in bringing an end to the insecurity problems plaguing our community, as they are the ones being used in wreaking havoc of all kinds on society.”

“RESTANCHOR has already started and still aims at continuing the arduous process of ensuring that less fortunate children are also provided with the opportunity of an excellent education to shape them into becoming better humans. We can say that the upward trend of narcotics and drug abuse which has become a rule rather than an exception in our society, is one of the major causes of these insecurity problems we are encountering as a state, as these substances bolster the mind and provide the user with a kind of courage needed to commit these various crimes.”

“Peace, harmony, equity, fairness, and the absence of violence are indispensable natural phenomena needed to stabilize economic, social, cultural, and political development in all world communities. However, the cost of sustaining peace is far cheaper than restoring peace in affected communities, including the reconciliation of aggrieved parties, reconstruction of damage done during the violence, and the relocation of affected persons.” Adefioye said.

In his keynote address, the state President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, (NULGE) Comrade Ayobami Olusegun Adeogun who was ably represented by Pastor Johnson Bankole Adedayo also applauded RestAnchor Foundation for the donation of food items for the less privileged in the state, he noted that government alone cannot meet needs of citizenry.

Items shared for the beneficiaries are Spaghetti, Rice, Beans, Soaps, Noodles and others.
