Governor Makinde has declared his interest to run for second term in office.

9Janewshub.com.ng reports that Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has officially declared his intention to contest for a second term in office come 2013 general election.

Makinde the incumbent governor of Oyo State made known his intention on Thursday via his verify social media page.

Makinde posted on his Facebook wall that he has picked up the expression of interest and nomination of forms to run for a term in office.

The content of the post as obtained the 9Janewshub.com.ng read as thus;

“In my newsletter today, I announced that I have picked up the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for a second term as the elected Governor of the good people of Oyo State. If the good people of Oyo State desire it, we will serve for four more years.”

Makinde was elected into the office of Governor of Oyo State on March 9 2019 having defeated Chief Bayo Adelabu, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate at the gubernatorial elections.

He officially took the mantle of Oyo leadership from the former governor, Late Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi on May 29 2019 having Sworn-In as the 28th executive Governor of the state by the state Chief Judge, Justice Munta Abimbola at the historical Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, (Liberty Stadium) Oke Ado Ibadan.
